YOUR PERSONAL TESTIMONY OF FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST

In order to become a member of Redemption Church, you need to have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ. Please
follow this outline to write out your testimony. Writing out your story of personal faith in Jesus Christ is a wonderful exercise to reflect on how God has worked in your life to draw you to Himself. As you consider your testimony, realize that you are a unique person in God’s eyes. You have your own story to tell. However, make sure the focus is on what God has done and is doing in your life.

This three-part outline is helpful for guiding your testimony:

I ONCE WAS....Before I trusted in Jesus my life was... *

Spend a brief time on “before.” This is not a biography from childhood. It is best to start at a time in life that relates to your experience with Christ.

BUT CHRIST... This is how and when I trusted in Jesus Christ as my Savior… *

Be as specific as possible. When and where did you surrender your life to Christ? What was happening in your life at the time? If you know the month and year, share that. How did you surrender your life to the Lord?

AND NOW... Here are one or two ways Christ has changed my life… *

Be practical. Explain how Christ has changed your life. Share how you are growing in your walk with Christ. “Just as you have received him, so walk in him, rooted and built up and strengthened in the faith.” (Colossians 2:6-7)

I will walk in fellowship with other believers at Redemption Church by participating in the small group ministry at some level. I also will seek a place to serve at Redemption Church that corresponds with my spiritual gifts and passions. I will financially support the ministries of Redemption Church by faithfully giving back to the Lord a biblical portion of my increase.

Because a disciple shares Christ, I am committed to evangelism and disciple-making at Redemption Church.

Elders, deacons, and other church leaders are called from within and serve the congregation. I believe every member needs to contribute their unique gifting and passion to contribute to a healthy body.
